<note>ABSTRACT
This study is entitled "COMMUNICATION PATTERNS AMONG SQUAD CHAMPION
SEASON MEMBERS IN THE MOBILE LEGEND GAME: BANG BANG" by Azis Ramlan
Hidayat with NIM 208100008. The researcher conducted an in-depth exploration of the
dynamics of communication that occurs between online game players who are members of a
squad in Mobile Legends, a game played via smartphone devices. The main purpose of this
study is to understand the communication patterns used by Squad Champion Season and to
evaluate how cultural factors influence the communication patterns they apply. This study uses
an exploratory qualitative method with Forum Group Discussion as the main tool to collect
data and obtain different perspectives from squad members. Regarding the use of language
and communication behavior, there are important aspects that need to be considered,
especially related to the "toxic" phenomenon that often occurs in online games. In the context
of the Mobile Legends game, communication that is too aggressive or uses harsh language
such as abusive words can be considered negative and get a negative response from the wider
community. This study also observed that the use of abusive language by Squad Champion
Season members in their communication can be influenced by various factors, such as
competitive pressure, team habits, and communication culture formed from situational
influences and social media. In the context of group achievement theory, it is important to
consider how healthy communication interactions and mutual respect for cultural differences
can strengthen unity and morale within a team. Encouraging positive interactions and mature
problem solving are key to building and maintaining strong relationships within a group.
